arghXiv is a work of satire and fiction. It is styled after a preprint archive, but nothing it hosts is a real research result.
What is invented
None of the bodies named on this site exist: the Institute for Terminal Discourse Studies, the Centre for Applied Consensus, and the Delft Society for Fine Measurement. Neither do its authors — Q. Barratt, E. Cavill, D. Corrigan, P. Setterfield, M. Crozier, E. Kuiper, Lionel Trask, A. Hollis, J. Redfern, S. Nakagawa, T. Ferreira, N. Achterberg, R. Adeyemi, M. Vasquez, K. Lindqvist, P. Duarte, E. Whitlock, D. Ostrowski, and G. Halloran. Every paper in the archive, and every statistic, method, finding, and withdrawal notice attached to it, was invented for this site. Sample sizes, effect sizes, and percentages that read as precise measurements are fabricated; none of them describe anything that was ever measured.
What arghXiv is not
arghXiv is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or in any way connected to arXiv, Cornell University, or any real preprint server, university, research institute, publisher, or funding body. Any resemblance in layout or terminology to a real archive is satirical and does not imply a real relationship. The three citation indices named on each abstract page (NASA ADS, Google Scholar, Semantic Scholar) are real services shown reporting zero citations, as part of the joke — they have no relationship with arghXiv and were not consulted in producing any of it.
How to read this site
Treat every abstract, comment, subject listing, and withdrawal notice as fiction, written in the flat, confident register of a real institutional archive. That register is the joke’s delivery mechanism, not a claim to authenticity. Nothing on arghXiv should be cited, quoted, or relied upon as a genuine finding.
