Terminal Discourse Classification
Submissions may carry one or more TDC codes, shown on the abstract page in the TDC classes row. Classification is supplied by the author and is not checked.
The scheme was drafted in a single sitting and has been revised twice, both times to add a class rather than to remove one.
The archive keeps one other scheme of its own: the response-type manual, which names the ways a direct question is answered, or is not.

Notes
Division 0 is reserved for work that cannot be placed. It contains two classes, which is one more than the Institute intended and one fewer than has been proposed.
Authors who dispute a classification may apply to have it changed. The application is classified before it is read.
