Time to Termination Under Chairing: A Reanalysis
Abstract: The controlled comparison of arghXiv:2511.09852 reports that a structured protocol with an impartial chair produced no terminations in either arm over eight weeks. We obtained the data and reanalysed it against a twenty-four-hour criterion. Under that criterion the protocol arm shows a median time to termination of 26 hours and the control arm 39 hours, a difference of 13 hours (p = 0.004). We conclude that the protocol works, that the original null result is an artefact of the window, and that the intervention should be recommended rather than reported as ineffective.
